When playoff games tipped off Friday evening, five local basketball teams still had dreams of playing in state title games.
By the end of the night, the dreams were extinguished for four of the teams.
At the 5A girls level, Thurston lost 61-51 at West Albany and Springfield lost 65-47 at Crater.
At the 1A tournament in Baker City, the Mohawk girls lost 55-30 to eventual state champions Imbler, and the Mohawk boys lost 44-39 to eventual champion Columbia Christian.
The Mohawk girls ended up fifth following a 63-39 loss to Crane on Saturday, while the Mohawk boys took third after an 44-43 overtime win over Damascus Christian on Saturday.
The last remaining local basketball team was the 4A Pleasant Hill boys. The Billies lost 52-29 on Saturday at Cascade.
The local spring sports season starts Monday, March 15.
